A Cosmic Rose - Rosette Nebula

Description
The Rosette Nebula is a beautiful and large emission nebula in Monoceros, just east of Orion. Located about 5,000 light years away and just east of Betelgeuse in the sky, the nebula glows red due to hydrogen emission in this true-color photo, showcasing the extent of the hydrogen clouds in this nebula, the Bok globules in the core of the nebula, and the long hydrogen "stem" of the rose.
