The Lunar X - First Quarter Moon

Description
For a few hours just before the first quarter moon, a famous "X" is visible, creatively named the "lunar X". This shape is caused by shadows and sunlight illuminating neighboring craters in the southern region of the moon, just along the "terminator" - the boundary between sunlight and shadow.
